Pattern-reconfigurable MIMO arrays can adapt their radiation characteristics to the propagation environment. This project models that capability and turns it into achievable-rate gains.

Contributions

  • Built a matrix-representation channel model for the pattern-reconfigurable MIMO system.
  • Revealed the physical mechanism of the pattern effect on the wireless channel.
  • Proposed a sequential optimization framework for pattern design based on manifold optimization.
